Cara "Well that's what the public thinks, at least. She and the twin deities took on different personas and have decided to act like normal citizens. Not only that but they've met a couple of interesting friends along the way, too."
Myrtle "We'll refer to them as 'The Inner Circle'. Firstly! Let's introduce the two most active of the bunch--The Deities of Light and Shadow!"
Myrtle "The Light Deity represents all you associate with 'Light' as a concept--warmth, guidance, safety, etc,." Cara "Hang on! She's really going commando?!" Myrtle "I suppose so. There's recordings of her being the weirder of the two. One account states that one day she grew tired of constant praise and screamed, 'Screw all of you! I'm becoming a hermit!'." Cara "So she doesn't wear underwear because she's lazy. Got it." Myrtle "Uhhh, moving on..." |
Myrtle "The Shadow Deity represents everything you can think of when you think about the word "shadow"--danger, secrecy, the unknown, etc,." Cara "In this realm of goody two-shoes you wouldn't think such a deity would get so much praise. I hear she's way more popular than the doggy girl." Myrtle "That's because there's a lot of unknowns in the world and secrets, good or bad, are something everyone has. But what's good or bad is subjective. The two deities themselves are more like opposites of the same coin rather than good and evil." Cara "Gotta wonder how mortals live in a world with ideals like that." |
Myrtle "Next up is the Creator herself--Starmaker! Or well at least her shell. The Creator is actually a formless being." Cara "She looks like some kid's mom." Myrtle "Well that's because she is, technically speaking. She's the mother of our worlds, our universe." Cara "If it weren't for that weird cowlick she could pass off as a regular human." Myrtle "The shells aren't perfect. She can't even use a fraction of her power without it breaking." Cara "What's the point of using the shell then? Myrtle "There's an ancient story that said that Starmaker loved humanity so much she tried to be human herself." Cara "Why are all the gods here so weird?" |
Myrtle "Next, we have Kiki! It seems she's rather close to Gomenne. She's actually a mortal but a very interesting one. She was created in a laboratory of some kind as a half-human half-spider hybrid. About a century ago, she was an attempt by humans to preserve their species." Cara "That means she's lived longer than most humans, and she still looks so young!" Myrtle "No one knows when she'll pass away but it doesn't seem very soon. That's good since Gomenne and Kiki are pretty inseparable." Cara "So when are Doggy and Spider getting married?" Myrtle "Stop." |
Cara "The Keystones? She's a pretty important mortal then! I thought those were lost!
Myrtle "On the contrary! A young magician came by to the other day seeking to borrow all records of the Keystones from our library. Seems there's an increase in interest lately."
Cara "What?! Where was I when this was happening???"
Myrtle "Not doing your job, that's for sure."
Cara "Ahahahah! Oh yeah!"
Myrtle "...anyway. That'll do it for this session. There's some important disciplinary action we should to attend to."
Cara "Hey, hey! Don't look at me when saying stuff like that!"
Myrtle "Until next time!"
Cara "Hey wait! WAIT!!!"
